Shocking details from the CBI investigation of the Kolkata doctor rape and murder case are coming out every day. Earlier, it was reported that the CBI found the former principal, Sandip Ghosh of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital’s statement illogical. The CBI also asked for the Supreme Court’s permission for the polygraph test. In the latest update, the CBI has been given consent to conduct polygraph tests on the former principal, whereas the prime accused, Sanjay Roy, also agreed to the same.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court conducted a thorough examination of the ongoing investigation regarding the rape and murder case of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College. After his police custody ended, the CBI took Sanjay Roy who’s the prime accused in the case, to Sealdah Court. Along with him, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College was also brought to the court. This afternoon, CBI received consent to conduct polygraph tests on the ex-principal and four of the victim’s colleagues. Moreover, the prime accused, Sanjay Roy also gave his consent to conduct polygraph tests.
Furthermore, the main suspect in the Kolkata doctor rape and murder case, Sanjay Roy, has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by the ACJM court. Moreover, many resident doctors returned to their work on Friday after ending their 11-day strike. The Supreme Court requested them to return to work. For the unversed, healthcare workers nationwide held a strike after a 31-year-old trainee doctor’s body was discovered in a seminar room at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9.
