It’s always a moral dilemma when the ideologies at your workspace do not go with your personal beliefs. And it requires you to come to a final decision as to whether are not you are ready to compromise with your own principles. The Congress spokesperson from Jammu and Kashmir, Deepika Pushkar Nath decided to leave the party on ideological differences. The politician took this decision after Mr Lal Singh who had joined Congress in 2014 was allowed to walk for Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Deepika Pushkar Nath was not happy that Mr Lal Singh, who had sabotaged the Kathua rape case was allowed to be a part of the walk.
The 2018 Kathua gang rape case of an eight-year-old Muslim girl sent chills down the spine of every Indian. Seven men were allegedly accused of this crime, and one of them was a juvenile. Mr Lal Singh had also attended a rally that was taken out for the culprits of this grievous crime and had received a serious backlash for it. He was criticised for becoming a part of the group that wanted to stop the trials against the Kathua gang rape culprits. This was the major as to why his association with the recent Bharat Jodo Yatra offended Deepika Pushkar Nath. The spokesperson quit the Congress. in her Tweet, she mentioned that there is no other option left for her since Mr Lal Singh who supported the Kathua case rapists was going to join the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The case had also given rise to a lot of communal disharmonies. In the very recent update on the case, the court decided to treat the juvenile in the case as an adult. The little girl who was the victim of this crime could not survive for long. Deepika Pushkar’s decision to dissociate herself from a place that encourages the presence of people who support rapists is quite understandable. It is a rage that exists in every woman in the country.
