In the clip, she playfully joked in Punjabi that people from Punjab have really big hearts and kindly gave away one point to the other team. Many saw it as a cheeky dig at KKR. The post became even more intriguing because her brother, Shreyas Iyer, had earlier captained Kolkata Knight Riders and won the IPL title in 2024.
For the unversed, the match was being played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Only 3.4 overs were bowled when rain started falling heavily. At that time, KKR were in trouble at 25 runs for two wickets. The Punjab Kings bowlers had started well and were putting pressure on the batters. But the rain did not stop, and the ground became too wet. The umpires had no choice but to call off the game. Therefore, this was the first washout of the IPL 2026 season.
According to the rules, both teams got one point each. Punjab Kings remained unbeaten and moved to the top of the points table with five points from three matches. KKR got their first point of the season.
