Indian Restaurateur Admits To Spiking Woman’s Drink But Claims It Was Only To “Relax” Her!

Spiking drinks has become so common these days, and it’s just getting scarier for girls. Another disturbing case has made headlines where a 62-year-old Indian Restaurateur has accepted to spiking a woman’s drink in London. However, in his statement, he also claimed that there was “no s*xual intent” involved in the matter. The victim has made strong allegations against the man, including that he had also warned her of people spiking drinks. Read on to know more about it.
What Happened?
An Indian Restaurateur identified as Vikas Nath has accepted that he spiked a woman’s drink. The incident happened at London’s Mayfair private members’ club Annabel. As per an NDTV report, the court proceedings suggest that the man used a straw to add gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) to the woman’s drink, and as per him, it was no done with any “s*xual intent” and was meant to “relax” her. As per the victim’s statement to BBC, Vikas Nath has previously warned her and her friend of people spiking drinks. She recalled an incident when she expressed her wish of not having alcohol, and in response, Nath encouraged her to drink but also expressed his fear of someone spiking her drink. As per the woman, she had seen the man using a straw to taste drinks and how she found this habit to be a really strange. As per the report, the staff exchanged the spiked drink with a fresh one before the victim could consume it, and Vikas Nath threw the bottle of GBL into a toilet cistern.

As per the court, the woman had met him a couple of times, at social settings. The woman also admitted to not believing a staff member when they warned her about Nath putting something in her drink. In her statement, the woman also said that came out to be a person who showed concern about her and never said anything inappropriate or s*xual in nature.
