During a recent chat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian women’s cricket team for their remarkable resilience and comeback in the World Cup. And in this chat, he was asked the cheeky question, “What’s your skincare routine?” It was asked by top-order batter Harleen Deol, who also told him that he ‘glows a lot,’ and it had the crowd in splits.

During their interaction, which was broadcast on Thursday, November 6, PM Modi said, “I never thought about this much.” When all-rounder Sneh Rana remarked that the Prime Minister’s glow comes from the affection of the people, he acknowledged that such support is indeed a powerful source of strength. Reflecting on his years in public service, he noted that the continuous goodwill and blessings from citizens inevitably leave a lasting impact.

On Sunday, the Indian women’s cricket team made history by defeating South Africa in Navi Mumbai to claim their first-ever ICC Women’s ODI World Cup title. The long-awaited victory marked a defining moment for Indian women’s cricket — a culmination of years of hard work, heartbreaks, and resilience — as the team triumphed by 52 runs in the final to become only the fourth side to ever lift the coveted trophy.

During a celebratory meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, captain Harmanpreet Kaur reflected on how the team had fallen short in 2017 but expressed pride in finally bringing the trophy home after years of dedication.
