Some people on social media are so ungrateful. They take the liberty to spread hate against officials who are working hard for their country. This unfortunate incident happened with India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri. He was trolled on X (Former Twitter) after India and Pakistan’s ceasefire. Many Government officials and organisations came out in support of Vikram Misri. Recently, the IAS Association also gave their official statement on the matter. Read here for more.

Why The Trolls?

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed the nation after Pakistan violated the ceasefire with India. During his briefing, he informed the citizens that there were major violations of the ceasefire from Pakistan and that the armed forces were accordingly retaliating against the attack. However, on Twitter, he received a severe backlash for not taking stronger action against Pakistan. Not just that, people also trolled his family members, including his daughter. The cyberbullying got so severe that Vikram Misri had to lock his Twitter handle.

Reacting to this trolling, the IAS Association put out an official statement on Twitter. They condemned the online attack against Vikram Misri and extended their solidarity. They slammed the trolling against a civil servant and called it ‘deeply regrettable’. The IAS Association pledged to uphold the dignity of its hard-working civil servants. Here’s the official tweet.
