The Hema Committee Report that was made public on August 19 revealed many disturbing allegations by women from the Malayalam Film Industry. Many prominent names from the industry were mentioned in the report. However, many pages were redacted from the Hema Committee Report before it was released. These pages had some shocking details about the nature of the allegations and the threats that kept the women silent for so many years. Read on to know more.
Why Pages Were Removed From The Hema Committee Report?
As per the news report, around 55 pages were redacted from the Hema Committee Report before it was made public. In these pages, there were details of the s*xual harassment allegations alleged by the women in the Malayalam Film Industry. Some of these pages had information about why the victims of this alleged crime remained silent for so many years. It had revelations about death threats that the victims got if they spoke about their ordeal.
As per a news report, some pages mentioned how men in the film industry thought that women came to the film industry just for money and fame, and could easily say yes to sleeping around with them. The pages revealed how some men did not understand that actresses wanted to film because they were passionate about the art. The report also mentioned that the women who voiced their opinions against these practices were labelled as ‘troublemakers’.

Page 80 of the Hema Committee Report revealed the online threats that the victims had to suffer. These included threats, photos or rape threats. Some of the pages also revealed the problems that the actresses faced on the set with issues like basic amenities not being provided to them, including proper toilets.
