A 14-year-old minor was gang-r*ped in Kanpur’s Sachendi area, and as per the reports, the police have arrested a local journalist in the matter. They are also suspecting the involvement of a constable, and the family has filed an FIR for kidnapping and gang-r*pe. Read on for more about it.
Another Shocking Incident Of Assault
The police have shared details of the assault. As per a report by NDTV, the 14-year-old girl was kidnapped by two men in a car, and she was taken to a deserted area near the police station. The police further informed that a local journalist was arrested in the case, and the one man in the car was allegedly wearing a police uniform. According to the reports, the girl also informed the police that she was assaulted in the car for two hours and was left in an unconscious state outside her house. Reportedly, her brother found her in a semi-conscious state and immediately informed the police. However, no action was taken, and the family reached the police station the next day to file a FIR against him.
As per the victim’s brother, when they alleged that the one of alleged accused was a police officer, their request to file an FIR was rejected. It was only after they approached the senior officials that the FIR was registered. The FIR has been filed under the POCSO Act. As per the DCP Dinesh Tripathi’s statement to PTI, a local journalist has been arrested in the case and in being questioned.
