The music maestro Pankaj Udhas is no longer among us. Known for his class-apart songs like ‘Chitthi Aayi Hai’ and ‘Chupana Bhi Nahi Aata’, the singer will forever be remembered for his songs. Pankaj Udhas left us on February 26, and his family has informed the fans about his funeral in Mumbai that will take place today. The legendary singer Pankaj Udhas died on Monday, February 26. The sad news of his passing away was conveyed by his family through a social media post. The reason cited for his death was a prolonged illness and the singer took his last breath at the age of 72. In another post shared by Pankaj Udhas’ daughter Nayaab Udhas, it was informed that the Padmashri awardee’s last rites will take place on February 27, Tuesday in Mumbai. The post further mentions the time and venue of the funeral. It further reads that the funeral will take place between 3 to 5 PM in the Hindu Crematorium, Mumbai. Here is the post-

Many celebrities and politicians paid condolences to the Udhas family and hailed the legendary singer’s contribution to music. Singer Sony Nigam dedicated an Instagram post to Pankaj Udhas and wrote that he has lost a part of his childhood. Indian Prime Minister Narendra also paid his tribute to the Padma Shri awardee. Another known personality from the music fraternity Anup Jalota expressed her grief over the loss.
