From Calling Pakistan Colourful To Partition Stories, Everything Mentioned In YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra’s Personal Diary

Police have seized the personal diary of Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was recently arrested on suspicion of spying for Pakistan. The diary contained comprehensive writings on Malhotra’s travel experience, some of which clearly referred to her time across the border.

Jyoti Malhotra is one of the 11 people arrested in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh in the last two weeks on espionage accusations. On May 16, Jyoti, who ran the YouTube channel titled ‘Travel with JO’, was arrested in Haryana’s Hisar. In the diary discovered, the YouTuber wrote her views in both English and Hindi. Investigators believe the diary could provide important insights into her international connections and activities.

The diary is roughly 10-11 pages long and covers eight pages of general travel notes in English and three pages in Hindi that are focused on Pakistan. An entry in Hindi that she penned after returning from her Pakistan trip said that she does not know how long the grievances between the two countries will last when we all share the same land and soil.

She also made a direct appeal to Pakistani officials to educate Muslims so that Hindu brothers do not feel frightened. If they come to visit, guard the temples. They should also be able to meet their families, as was the case during the 1947 partition. Jyoti Malhotra commended the hospitality she encountered in Pakistan and hoped that more Hindus would visit their ancestral lands.

Jyoti also described her visit to Pakistan and the country as crazy and colourful. She said that her experience travelling the country and meeting its people was beyond words.

Jyoti Malhotra was arrested by the Haryana police on suspicion of having a connection with the Pakistan Intelligence Bureau. The Indian government has currently taken down both her Instagram account and YouTube channel as a cautious measure.
