Most viewers were convinced that the gruesome footage represented her death, and there have been frantic online searches for further information about the tragedy.

But the reality is different. Facts about the claims were probed and found that there is no official documentation about a marine trainer Jessica Radcliffe, and no recent fatal orca attack has been recorded in any credible news source. That alone raises serious doubts about whether the viral video is genuine.
As per a fact-check by Hindustan Times, the video was manipulated. The experts revealed that the material was produced using a combination of older, unrelated footage and artificial intelligence to create real-looking segments. AI-generated crowd sounds, staged captions, and selected imagery were used together to recreate an event that never occurred. The name “Jessica Radcliffe” itself seems to be fictitious, probably created to make the clip credible.

This hoax is an example straight out of the textbook of how media manipulation using AI can produce convincing but untrue accounts. Leveraging the public’s emotional reaction to stories of animal attacks, particularly those by orcas, which already have a questionable past in captivity the producers guaranteed the video would go viral.
