On the first day of 2023, a crime that took place in Delhi sent shock waves across the country. A woman was killed after she was dragged for several kilometres following an accident with a car in Delhi’s Kanjawala area. The incident took place in the wee hours of the morning on January 1. 20-year-old Anjali was on her way home with her friend on her scooty when the accident took place and she got trapped under the car. It was earlier reported that there were 5 men in the car that hit the girls on the scooty but new facts seem to have come to light.
Media reports had earlier claimed that there were 5 men in the car and that the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was borrowed by the men from their friend. The victim’s friend had fled the spot after the incident but was tracked down by the police later. In her statement, she revealed that the Delhi woman was screaming after she got trapped under the car but they did not stop her. She also claimed that the men deliberately killed Anjali and there was no loud music playing in the car. In fact, the men were waiting for them outside the hotel as per the woman’s statement.
Here are the latest details that have come to light after the police probe into the death of the woman dragged for several kilometres.

Earlier the main accused Deepak Khanna had claimed that he borrowed the car from a friend and was driving around with his 4 friends – Amit Khanna, Krishan Mithun and Manoj Mittal at the time of the incident. But as per the police probe, the car was being driven by Amit Khanna who did not have a license which is why Deepak took responsibility.
