Apart from winning the T20 Men’s World Cup, Shivam Dube is also winning people’s hearts. He recently travelled from Ahmedabad to Mumbai via train with his wife and a friend because all the flights were booked. He had to make this decision because he wanted to be with his two kids, Ayaan and Mehwish, who were in Mumbai, as soon as possible. Now recounting his experience, Shivam spoke about how smooth his train journey was.
Shivam Dube On His Ahmedabad To Mumbai Train Journey
As per the Indian Express, Shivam Dube stated that they decided to take the 3AC train early in the morning, as those tickets were available. He mentioned that everyone they spoke to was worried about people recognising him at the station or inside the train. Since there were a lot of people on the train, he told his wife, Anjum that he would wait in the car till five minutes before the train departed; after that he would board it. After boarding the train, he took the top berth. Recalling their interaction with the TTE, the cricketer said that when the TTE asked, “Shivam Dube? Woh kaun hai, cricketer?”, his wife answered, “no no” where will he come from? Shivam mentioned that his overall train journey was smooth and he managed to conceal his identity. However, he was worried about getting down in Borivali, Mumbai, in broad daylight, adding that he couldn’t have escaped attention there, so he called the police when he reached Mumbai.

Police Reaction
Shivam Dube said that when he called the police, they thought he was landing at the airport but were totally surprised when he told them that he was travelling by train. The cricketer then mentioned that he was provided with a police escort, which made things easy and smooth. At the station, the cricketer’s fans grandly welcomed him. People on social media have been praising Shivam for simply opting to go by train, along with appreciating his amazing performance in the T20 Men’s World Cup matches.
