All Controversies Leading To India’s Win Against Pakistan In Asia Cup 2025

The India-Pakistan match at the Asia Cup 2025 was different this time. It was held in Dubai, and the match took place on Sunday, September 14, but this time there were comparatively fewer competitors to watch the match. This came into view of the Pahalgam attack that took so many lives. And India took home the winner’s title after this match. Read on to know more about it.

Victim’s Family Calls Out Match

Pahalgam victim Saurabh Dwivedi’s wife and family condemned the India-Pakistan match. His wife also called out BCCI for forgetting her husband’s sacrifice, and further urged the Indians to boycott the match.

Politicians Criticising Match

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray also condemned the India-Pakistan match and had announced protests across Maharashtra to show their stan against terrorism. Even AAP party called for boycott and held protests in Delhi.

Empty Seats

This was probably the first time in years when the stadium for India-Pakistan match was not crowded at all. In the pictures that emerged of the stadium, many seats were empty and not many spectators were there to watch the match.

Celebrities Reaction

Many celebrities like Raveena Tandon and Suniel Shetty commented on the controversy. The actress hoped that the actors would show some kind of tribute to the victims by wearing black bands. Suniel Shetty however believed that the cricketers should not be blamed it and that Indians could take a decision about watching or not watching the match.

Social Media Boycott, Protests

Many social media users boycotted the match and expressed their anger on various platforms. In Delhi, effigies of the Pakistani cricketers were also burnt, as per the news reports.

The country beat Pakistan by 7 wickets.
