Chum Darang Speaks Out Against Hate Towards Northeastern States Amid Raja Raghuvanshi’s Murder Case

Actress and Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang is extending her support to the Northeastern people and the states following the gruesome murder of tourist Raja Raghuvanshi. The incident has garnered a lot of attention, with many throwing negativity and hatred towards Meghalaya and other Northeastern states, as well as their tourism industry. In a statement on Instagram, Chum Drang says that she feels it is unjust to generalise and blame an entire state for one crime. 

Chum Darang Stands Up For Northeastern States

Chum Drang recently took to her Instagram and wrote, “This Raja Raghuvanshi case had me shook beyond words. I am sure everyone was worried for the ‘wife’ after the news of Raja being found. But never did I think she would be behind all this. Breaks my heart.”

The murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi in Meghalaya has put the state’s tourism industry in a tight spot. Several travel agencies have been facing cancellations from various tourists who had booked their services previously. Chum also addressed the murder case and expressed her condolences. “This Raja Raghuvanshi case had me shook beyond words. I am sure everyone was worried for the ‘wife’ after the news of Raja being found. But never did I think she would be behind all this. Breaks my heart.” She wrote on her Instagram story.

The Bigg Boss season 18 star also added that she is not saying that the Northeastern states are crime-free, however, she feels that it is wrong to point fingers at people.

About Raja Raghuvanshi’s Murder Case

On June 2, the dead body of an Indore-based businessman, Raja Raghuvanshi, was found in the parking area of Weisawdong Falls in East Khasi Hills. This came days after he and his wife Sonam went missing after going on a honeymoon trip in Meghalaya. According to the Meghalaya police, Sonam was behind her husband’s murder. She allegedly conspired to murder with her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha. 

Five arrests for the case have been made so far. Sonam Raghuvanshi and four men, including Raj Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi, are currently under police custody.
