The popular activist was quite a controversial figure in the country, known for his polarising opinions on guns and immigrants. Kirk was shot dead yesterday at a public event in Utah. Who Was Charlie Kirk?
Charlie Kirk was a 31-year-old political activist who was known to be a well-recognised, outspoken supporter of conservative ideology and a Donald Trump supporter. The activist was also a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment of the American Constitution, which talks about protecting an individual’s right to own arms.
Kirk was a controversial figure in the United States because of his extreme conservative beliefs. In his speeches and shows, Charlie Kirk used to talk about how women should prioritise motherhood over their careers and also that dying by gun violence is worth it.
The political activist was born and raised in a Chicago suburb and went on to become the founder of ‘Turning Point America’, an American nonprofit organisation that advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses.
In a very ironic turn of events yesterday, on 10th September, Charlie Kirk was shot mid-speech when he was answering a question about mass shooters. The shooter has now been detained by authorities and is reported to be a middle-aged white man.

Since the political activist was a staunch supporter of American President Donald Trump, he expressed his condolences after the news of Kirk’s death came out. The two reportedly shared a close relationship since 2016, and Trump once dubbed Charlie Kirk a ‘warrior of light.’ The activist also played a significant role in Trump’s MAGA-led movement.
