Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee Goofs Up Rakesh Sharma And Rakesh Roshan’s Names, Twitter Says “Koi Mil Gaya Dekhi Hogi!”

Oops, Didi. Big mistake!

Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee Goofs Up Rakesh Sharma And Rakesh Roshan’s Names, Twitter Says “Koi Mil Gaya Dekhi Hogi!”

As Chandrayaan 3 made a safe soft landing on the moon’s south pole, all 7.1 million Indians who watched the landing erupted into cheers! Congratulations came pouring in for team ISRO who finally made this long-standing mission come true and people from all around the world sent their best wishes to Indian scientists for achieving this feat. Even the West Bengal CM, Mamta Banerjee, seemed happy about Chandrayaan 3’s landing. In fact, she was so happy that she goofed up the name of the first Indian to go to space, Rakesh Sharma. She accidentally misnamed Rakesh Sharma as Rakesh Roshan, father of Hrithik Roshan, and this goof-up has left Twitter in splits!

In a now-viral clip, Mamta Banerjee is heard recalling the time when PM Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh Sharma what India looked like from space, and he first the lines, “Saare jahaan se accha, Hindustaan humara.” But instead, she named Hrithik Roshan’s father and said, “When Rakesh Roshan reached the moon…”

This goof-up by Banerjee has Twitter cracking up and many have even criticised her for her lack of knowledge. Some also made some hilarious memes about this as Hrithik Roshan also starred in a sci-fi film called Koi… Mil Gaya.

One of them congratulated Rakesh Roshan for becoming an astronaut under Mamta Banerjee’s leadership.

Another mocked this goof-up and said that they did not Indira-ji had this conversation with Rakesh Roshan.

One of them joked that Rakesh Roshan is celebrating this new achievement of his.

Another said that maybe Mamta Banerjee made his mistake because she must have seen Koi…Mil Gaya recently and it totally makes sense.

This is not the first time that an Indian politician has such ignorant remarks about India’s moon mission. Rajasthan sports minister Ashok Chandna was asked about Chandrayaan 3 and he ended up congratulating the passengers who were on board the craft. This shows how our Indian politicians are unaware of some of the biggest national developments and they expect people to vote for them.
