While the Mile High Club may seem exciting in films and TV shows, the reality is quite different. In real life, joining the Mile High Club can lead to serious consequences. Despite its glamorous portrayal in media, such behaviour is not tolerated by airlines and can result in legal action, fines, and even being banned from flying with that airline in the future. Recently, a British couple who was removed from a flight in March for their obscene behaviour had their court hearing.
What Happened?
Witnesses reported that Bradley asked Antonia to engage in a s*xual act shortly after the flight departed from Spain. The couple then covered Bradley’s lap with clothes and began their act. According to what prosecutor Maree Doyle told the Bristol magistrates’ court, witnesses observed the couple readjusting their coats. They also noticed strong hand movements underneath the coat. “The witness sitting next to them could see what was happening while a mother and teenage daughter sitting behind the couple could also see what was going on” added the prosecutor. After the mother complained to the cabin crew, Antonia didn’t agree to the claims and said that she was merely rubbing her boyfriend’s leg. However, following the incident, authorities escorted the couple off the plane for further investigation.
The incident happened while they were flying back to Bristol from Tenerife, Spain. Witnesses on the flight reported their s*xual misconduct to the airline crew. Earlier this week, both Bradley and Antonia admitted to committing a lewd act in a public place and pleaded guilty in court. They were asked to pay compensation of approximately 11,000 Rupees to each of the three witnesses. Furthermore, Bradley was sentenced to 300 hours of community service, while Antonia was assigned 270 hours.
