Kolkata city has been going through a phase of turmoil after a female PG trainee doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Several incidents have taken place ever since the heinous crime including CBI probe, a polygraph test of the accused and more. Now according to the most recent update, BJP leaders have now reached the State Women’s Commission to lock it. 

Locket Chatterjee and Agnimitra Paul have reportedly travelled to the State Women’s Commission in order to lock it for their alleged inaction in crimes against women. Moreover, the West Bengal BJP’s woman unit also staged a protest against the R.G. Kar PG Doctor’s rape and murder on Friday, August 30, 2024. BJP’s Agnimitra Paul while speaking about West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, that the way she is saying things is a language of an anti-national. She also added that If someone else would have said such things then, a case under UAPA must have been registered.

While West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee wrote another letter to Prime Miniter Narendra Modi on Friday, where she demanded stringent Central legislation and punishment on horrific crimes of rape and murder and handling of cases in a specific time frame.

Kolkata city amid the ongoing row over the death of a trainee doctor at the R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital is going to witness a series of rallies on Friday, with reportedly several political parties and civil organisations planning to join the protests on the streets.
