Banker Caste-Row: Woman Posts Apology Video, Shares Details Of The Incident

Recently, a video of a female banker from one of HDFC’s brand in Kanpur went viral on social media. In this, the banker was seen engaging in a verbal fight with the employee, and she also passed some caste-related remarks during the argument. This did not sit well with social media users, and she received a lot of backlash on the internet. The banker has now addressed the situation and issued an apology. However, she also clarified on the details of the incident. Read on.

What Did The Banker Say?

The female banker identified as Aastha Singh as per many news reports. In this video, she acknowledged that the video has been over the internet for quite some time. She firstly clarified that the video is from January 6, and that the speculations about her misbehaving with any customer were wrong. She further clarified that the argument did not happen with any customer but with an employee’s husband. She dismissed all the false claims going around on social media.

Furthermore, the banker shared the details of the incident. She said that the her colleague wanted relieving the day she submitted her resignation. The banker also had an argument over this with the colleague’s sister-in-law. As per her, the colleague’s husband stormed inside the bank later, and started arguing with her. The woman in the video said that her colleague’s husband misbehaved with her, and started asking about her caste, and threatened her too. While the banker apologised for her language and acknowledged that she is a public servant, however, she sternly added that her statements were a response to the man’s language. She also ended the video by saying that she was proud to be a Thakur.
