Baba Siddique Murder: Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East. The politician had reportedly received a death threat 15 days ago and was under ‘Y’ category security. In the update, the Mumbai Police has identified the accused arrested in the assassination as Gurmail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap.
Who Are The Killers Of Baba Siddique
Gurmail Baljit Singh, 23, is a Haryana citizen, and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, 19, is from Uttar Pradesh, according to the Mumbai Police. They also added that this case is being investigated by the Crime Branch, and a search for the third accused is ongoing. According to ANI, the accused had done an investigation of Baba Siddique’s home and office premises. They were in Mumbai for two and a half months and were keeping an eye on him.
According to PTI, the police have initiated an investigation into the death of the former Maharashtra minister from various aspects, including a possible contract killing, commercial rivalry, or a threat over a slum restoration project, officials said on Sunday.
Baba Siddique, who had recently proclaimed the end of his four-decade-long relationship with Congress and joined Sharad Pawar’s NCP, had received a death threat 15 days ago and was under ‘Y’ category protection. Doctors at Lilavati Hospital reported that Baba Siddique died of his injuries at 11:27 p.m., having received two gunshots.
Siddique had lost a significant amount of blood, therefore resuscitation was immediately commenced. He was transferred to the ICU, where additional attempts at revival were made. Despite all resuscitation efforts, physicians were unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead at 11.27 p.m. on Saturday.
