Pakistani Cricketers’ Actions Spark Outrage!
After scoring a quick fifty, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan celebrated by pointing his bat like an AK-47 and firing it toward the Indian dugout. Fans inside and outside the stadium were shocked by his action, as in the wake of the Pahalgam tragedy, it felt like glorifying violence and was described as disgraceful.
Not just this, Pakistani bowler Haris Rauf was recorded making a controversial “6-0” gesture. It hit Indians’ nerves, as it was allegedly linked to Pakistan’s disputed claim of taking down six Indian Air Force jets in Operation Sindoor, which was a military response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack. The bowler’s action felt like a direct jab amid rising border tensions.
Furthermore, As India chased Pakistan’s 172, Haris Rauf was fielding near the boundary when Indian fans started chanting “Kohli, Kohli”, which was a nod to Virat Kohli’s legendary 2022 T20 World Cup sixes to the bowler. In response, he was flashing the “6-0” sign with his fingers and also mimicked a fighter jet crashing down.

Following which, fans became furious. One user wrote, “This isn’t cricket; it’s provocation.” They also called it a low blow that disrespected fallen soldiers. Social media exploded and hashtags like #BoycottPakCricket trended, with thousands of people slamming Rauf and Farhan for mixing politics into sport.
