In recent turn of events, a new FIR has been registered against Ashok Kharat after a complaint of an alleged r*pe by a woman from Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district. A total of seven criminal cases have been registered against the self-proclaimed godman, with six women coming forward with complaints of s*xual abuse. Apart from this, another complaint was filed by a former office staff member accusing him of r*ping his wife. Read to know more about it here.
About Cases Against Ashok Kharat
As per officials, the Shirdi woman claimed in her complaint that Ashok Kharat r*ped her four times between July and December 2024. He reportedly even threatened her, saying that he had ‘divine powers’ which could harm her family and even cause her parents’ death if she told anyone about the abuse. The woman and her parents had first gone to Kharat in 2021 through his office staffer, Niraj Jadhav, for guidance on building a house on their plot. She alleged that Ashok advised them against building on that land and said he would offer a remedy later.
After this, the woman, a management graduate, along with her parents, met with him again in July 2024 for his guidance on securing a good job. As per her complaint, Ashok Kharat asked her parents to wait outside his chamber, after which he reportedly sedated and r*ped her and then went on to assault her on three more occasions until December 2024. The woman also said that she received a video on WhatsApp from an unknown number showing obscene acts featuring her and Kharat.

When she confronted him, he allegedly said that the video was AI-generated and asked her to file a complaint against the sender. She then approached the Shirdi police but did not reveal the alleged assaults at the time. After his arrest by the Nashik police earlier this month, the woman came forward and talked about the alleged abuse and filed a complaint. Kharat coerced and repeatedly r*ped women, claiming to be an avatar of Lord Shiva. He told them to follow his directions and threatened them with serious consequences if they didn’t.
