Recently, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell assured the victims in the Ashok Kharat harassment case that the objectionable videos would be taken down from various sites. Reports suggested that the videos circulating on adult sites had severely affected the mental health of many victims. In the latest updates, the police have now registered a fresh FIR against Kharat and others for allegedly sharing harassment videos on social media platforms. New Updates On Ashok Kharat Video
An astrologer and self-styled ‘Godman’ is currently in police custody. He was arrested in Nashik in a r*pe case, and that was followed by several harassment and cheating FIRs. On the other hand, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell is working towards taking down all the Ashok Kharat videos on several adult sites. In the latest updates, a TV9 Marathi report suggested that the police have filed an FIR against Kharat and others for circulating the videos. The FIR has been filed under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. Another disturbing revelation in the report was that the assault videos were also sold on Telegram for Rs 15-20. Reportedly, some people were also getting the video at Rs 20 to Rs 50 for those who showed interest. The viewers were getting the videos after sending the money.
The Cyber Cell has also assured the victims of preventing further leaks of the assault videos on social media. Earlier reports revealed that many survivors faced ‘depression’ due to the video leaks, and that they had also approached psychiatrists to seek help.

The SIT has also launched a probe into Kharat’s mobile data and other transactions to understand the deeper networks of the accused.
