The self-styled godman Ashok Kharat’s case has been gaining attention recently. For a multitude of salacious videos to land plots involving politicians and serious r*pe allegations, the astrologer has been remanded to police custody since March 17. He will soon be produced before the Nashik court, and the police are gathering their evidence to present the case. Ashok Kharat Controversy: Doctors Who Supplied Contraceptives, Politicians Using Fake Names Under The Radar
In the latest events, big-name medical professionals are being investigated because of their alleged involvement in the Ashok Kharat case. Reportedly, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is taking a look at whether they have supplied or prescribed contraceptive medicines to Kharat to stop his victims from getting pregnant. Additionally, the team has considered whether some pills may have been used to put them to sleep.
In view of the seriousness of the allegations, Nashik doctors are under scrutiny. Additionally, it was revealed by the investigators that further details would come out as the case proceeds.
Apart from this, it is alleged that anywhere between 40 and 45 political leaders had access to Ashok Kharat. As a “godman” and astrologer, he would advise them on various matters with respect to their political career. Apparently, they sought counsel about decisions involving public policy and their party. Moreover, they would even ask him for auspicious dates to file their election nomination forms.
All these politicians were saved in the Kharat documents under aliases. According to reports, his daughter’s wedding invite list featured major names, including former Women’s Commission Head Rupali Chandekar, and leaders from the ruling and opposition parties in Maharashtra.

With the investigation still ongoing, Kharat is supposed to appear before a Nashik court on April 1, 2026. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis guaranteed that the “accused will have to face punishment.”
