Ashok Kharat Case: Police Allege Astrologer Impregnated Women, Shocking Claims Surface

Ashok Kharat’s name has been dominating headlines for a few days. In new details about the “godmans’,” case, he was produced in court via video conferencing on April 2, Thursday, during which his lawyers reportedly stated that objectionable videos of him were being leaked intentionally. Not just that, the police shockingly told the court that he had allegedly r*ped a woman and made her pregnant, after which he tried to give her abortion pills. Know all about it in detail.

New Details Related To Ashok Kharat’s Case Revealed

According to a report by The Hindu, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking after the case revealed that Ashok Kharat, who was sent to police custody till April 8, had not been cooperating while they investigated his case. During the April 2 proceeding, which he joined via video conference in the court, the investigating officer reportedly revealed that the “godman” had allegedly r*ped a woman, impregnated her and tried giving abortion pills. The official stated that he is a “mastermind” and was not cooperating with the authorities. Additionally, it was revealed that between February 2020 and March 2026, the woman was s*xually exploited by the accused, adding that she was threatened about the well-being of her children. The police said that when the woman was impregnated, he allegedly gave her an abortion pills, and he forced her family members, including her brother and mother, to give their Aadhar and Pan cards. Not just that, it was also claimed that she was given sedatives.

What Did His Lawyer Say?

Throughout the hearing, the accused refused to comment. As per the report, Ashok Karat’s lawyer stated that the allegation is that the woman went to him continuously for years. The lawyer asked if the woman remained pregnant and was made to abort the child, “what is that time frame?” The attorney further argued, “The police have had to invoke the Black Magic Act. Without it, the issue of consent becomes immaterial. The only recourse for the prosecution is the Black Magic Act, without which r*pe cannot be proved.” Further objecting to Kharat being in police custody, his lawyer said that the police had carried out most of the investigation in the previous offense. The court had remanded him in police custody after hearing both sides and asking the “godman” for a comment.
