Ashok Kharat Allegedly Assaulted More Than 150 Women
As per a report by The New Indian Express, after retrieving documents and data from the devices, it was found that he had allegedly s*xually exploited more than 150 women under the pretext of improving their lives and solving the issues they were facing. Now, his bank accounts, office and properties have been seized and his money transactions are also being investigated.
The police reportedly mentioned that the godman used multiple mobiles to contact high-profile people, which also included women. Additionally, police revealed that he allegedly used to spike drinks and sweets, offering them to women, after which they were exploited, sometimes after being hypnotised. The source, who is well-versed with the SIT probe, alleged that politician Deepak Kesarkar assisted Kharat’s brother, Dilip Kharat, to get the green light from the government to open his schools and colleges with fake documents.

As per the report, the opposition parties have asked for further investigation into the allegations, claiming that Kesarkar had close association with Ashok Kharat while serving as education minister. While reacting to the same, Kesarkar alleged that 30 to 35 MLAs were in contact with the godman and that he is the only one being targeted by the media.
Not just that, Vijay Wadettiwar, Maharashtra Congress Legislative Party Leader, claimed that multiple government officers used to visit Kharat with their wives, adding that the officers used to sit outside his office cabin while he allegedly s*xually assaulted the wives. Additionally, Wadettiwar mentioned that mutiple high profile devotees were also involved in wife-swapping with the accused’s help.
He further claimed that the godman ran a s*x racket where many high-profile politicians, businessmen, and bureaucrats were involved. Wadettiar mentioned that this matter should not be utilised for political manipulations and settling scores. He added that the SIT and other probe agencies should conduct a fair and transparent probe that will give justice to victims and shed light on the system.
