In recent events, a man has been arrested in Maharashtra’s Amravati area for allegedly s*xually exploiting around 180 or more minor girls and recording 350 obscene clips. This action was taken after a complaint by a BJP MP, and the accused has been identified as Mohammad Ayaz, popularly known as Tanveer. He is a resident of Paratwadi city and allegedly lured girls into a ‘love trap’ and took them to Mumbai and Pune to film intimate videos.

These clips were reportedly used to blackmail these girls and force them into prostitution. In a memorandum submitted by Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde to Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand, it was stated that this video was widely circulated online as well. He also warned of protesting in front of the SP’s office if a Special Investigation Team was not formed as per NDTV.
On the other hand, Muslim community members have also gone to the police, urging them to take strict action against the accused. They emphasised that such an incident should not damage the community’s reputation. Mohammad Ayaz was allegedly also associated with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in past, and visuals shared on the internet showed him getting a letter from party figures and creating reels at the rallies. However, many of these posts were deleted after the case surfaced online.

After this, the police acted quickly and arrested him and presented him before a court. They remanded him to seven days of police custody. His mobile has been seized, and officials say that it has many obscene videos. Investigations are now looking into whether these clips have been shared by Ayaz with his friends. With the help of the cyber cell, the clips that were shared are now being investigated.
