Yes, and the lady is none other than Akriti Chopra, one of the co-founders of this business who currently holds an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) of Rs 149 crores! As per reports, Akriti Chopra was made one of the co-founders of Zomato as she first started working in the company only as an employee. The now-top executive of the company has done her schooling at Delhi Public School and went on to graduate from Lady Shri Ram College in the field of commerce.

She joined Zomato in 2011 and assumed the post of senior manager of finance and operations. Akriti Chopra played a huge role in scaling up the finances of Zomato right from the time she began working at the company. She did not just help with the finances of the company but also helped its legal, risk and compliance teams. Akriti’s efforts led her to become the Chief People Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Zomato.

Akriti Chopra was made Zomato’s co-founder before its IPO went live in 2021. With this promotion, Chopra goes on to become the fifth co-founder of the food delivery giant. Interestingly, after the IPO went live, Akriti Chopra’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) was valued at a whopping Rs 149 crores!
