India woke up to a very unfortunate news about the sudden demise of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar. As per various news outlets, the plane he was on crashed in Baramati while emergency landing. There were a total of five people on the plane and reportedly, nobody survived this fatal plane crash. The Prime Minister and Home Minister have contacted Maharashtra’s Chief Minister regarding the situation. Read on.
NCPA Leader Ajit Pawar Dies
While more details on the plane crash are still awaited as the investigation in ongoing, reports suggest that the plane crash happened on Wednesday morning when the plane was landing in Pune Baramati area. Many horrifying visuals of the plane crash have surfaced on social media. The plane was carrying five passengers including the crew members. Ajit Pawar was accompanied by a personal security officer and an attendant. The ambulances reached the location, and NCPA leader’s family has also left for Baramati. The NCPA leader and Maharashtra’s Deputy CM was visiting Baramati for a meeting ahead of the Zilla Parishad polls, as per the reports. According to the news reports, the DGCA confirmed the death of five people on board, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
As per the news reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over call to take updates about the incident. As per Hindustan Time, Baramati airport manager Shivaji Taware said that during landing the aircraft went on the side of the runway which led to explosion on crashing.
