Nada Hafez made her debut against American fencer Elizabeth Tartakovsky, securing a significant victory. Donning the essential gear of an electrically conductive jacket, a mesh wire mask, and wielding a sabre, she competed with skill and strength. Although her journey was brief, ending in a defeat to South Korea’s Jeon Hayoung in the Round of 16, Hafez left a lasting impression on the global stage. Following her Olympic journey, Hafez revealed on Instagram that she had been seven months pregnant during the competition. This announcement took the internet by storm, with many athletes and fans showering her with praise for her extraordinary effort. Her post highlighted the unique challenge she faced, noting that what appeared as a duel between two competitors was, in fact, a trio—Hafez, her opponent, and her unborn child.

Nada also thanked her husband and said, “I’m lucky to have shared the trust of my husband Ibrahim Ihab and that of my family to be able to come this far. This specific Olympics was different; Three times *Olympian* but this time carrying a little Olympian one!”
