5 Important Points PM Narendra Modi Addressed In His Message To The Nation Amid Operation Sindoor
Important details Prime Minister Modi talked about in first speech addressing the nation since the commencement of Operation Sindoor.

PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation today at 8 pm for the first time after Operation Sindoor was conducted against Pakistan. The address comes two days after India and Pakistan agreed for a ceasefire. Both countries reached an understanding to halt all military actions across land, air, and sea with immediate effect. Here are 5 key highlights from the Prime Minister’s speech regarding the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan and Operation Sindoor.
1. PM Modi dedicates Operation Sindoor to every mother, daughter and sister
In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Armed Forces for their important role in Operation Sindoor. The Prime Minister said that the operation was dedicated to every mother, sister, and daughter who lost loved ones in the Pahalgam terror attack. Through this mission, the enemy was made to realise the consequences of attempting to erase the dignity symbolised by the sindoor (vermilion) on the foreheads of Indian women.
2. Pakistan’s morale was demolished by India’s counterattacks
The Prime Minister stated that India’s strikes on terror camps led to a visible dip in morale on the Pakistani side. Rather than cooperating in the fight against terrorism, Pakistan reportedly chose war over peace. More than 100 terrorists were said to have been neutralised during the offensive. Following significant damage, the Pakistani military is said to have reached out to India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on 10 May to propose a ceasefire, indicating the extent of pressure they were under.

3. The Indian army has full freedom to combat terrorism
Prime Minister Modi praised the National Security bodies and claimed that the Indian army has been granted complete freedom to wipe out terrorism. He said that this operational strategy was one of the key factors behind the success of Operation Sindoor.
4. India will not yield to nuclear blackmail
Prime Minister declared that the country would not give into nuclear intimidation. Under Operation Sindoor, Pakistani drones were reportedly intercepted before entering Indian territory, and extensive strikes were carried out on terror camps across Pakistan. The strikes were said to have surpassed the expectations of the enemy while demolishing key terror infrastructure in Pakistan.
5. No dialogue without action against terrorism
PM Modi made it clear that India would not resume trade or diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan unless there is an end to cross-border terrorism. He reaffirmed that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty remains in place as part of India’s firm response to the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack. Echoing a strong message, he stated that blood and water cannot go hand in hand, reinforcing that peace and terrorism cannot co-exist.
