Another extremely disturbing r*pe case made headlines in the Capital city. A 10-year-old girl was picked up from the footpath, r*ped and murdered allegedly by a 25-year-old man identified as Bashu Kumar Singh. The girl’s body was reportedly found in Delhi’s Mehrauli area. Details About The Case
The investigation began after the minor’s father filed a complaint at the police station. As per an HT report, the father of the girl saw her screaming from a WagonR while it drove away. The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning. The police immediately began the investigation and followed the description provided by the father. As per the reports, the CCTV footage was checked and the car was tracked, and in one footage, the man was seen with the minor. As per the reports, he drove her 2 kms away, and he r*ped her in the car. The accused dumped her body before killing her.
Arrest
After a few hours of the investigation, the accused, identified as Bashu Kumar Singh, was arrested by the police, and reportedly, he kept changing his statements. He later led the police to the crime scene, from where the girl’s body was recovered. According to the report, the man confessed to r*ping and strangling the girl. However, while recreating the scene, he tried to run away, when the police shot at his leg, and arrested him. He was later taken to a hospital.
About The Accused
The accused was a cab driver, and hailed from Bihar’s Chhapra and was living in Gurugram. As per the police, the man also had three assault cases and two attempted murder cases in Bihar. He allegedly picked the girl from the footpath while everyone was sleeping.

This is extremely scary and disturbing. Is there no importance of a woman’s life in India? And what is more shocking here is that the man who is already facing assault and murder attempt charges is freely working as a cab driver. Why are such dangerous people left to live a normal life when they are clearly a threat to society and to women? Why is this accused not behind bars already, with this history of assault and crimes. With each passing day, our National Capital is becoming unsafe for women, and yet we are not doing anything about it!
