Taylor Swift put her fans into overdrive this week when she unveiled the cover art and track listing for her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. Of the 12 new tracks, one title grabbed people's attention right away, Ruin the Friendship. Swifties were immediately speculating, with some believing the song could be inspired by recent drama between Swift and longtime friend Blake Lively. Is Taylor Swift's New Song About Blake Lively? During the dispute, Baldoni’s team alleged in court that Lively had threatened to involve Swift by releasing private texts unless she showed public support. Lively’s lawyers quickly dismissed that claim as false. His side even subpoenaed Swift at one time, although it was subsequently withdrawn. Taylor Swift’s representative clarified her stance, stressing that she had nothing to do with the film beyond licensing one song, My Tears Ricochet, for its soundtrack. The statement emphasized that Swift never visited the set, never gave creative input, and was busy touring the world at the time. The rep also accused Baldoni’s camp of dragging Swift’s name into the case for publicity rather than substance.
