Many think that the lead star, Ranveer Singh’s character is based on an actual soldier named Major Mohit Sharma. He tagged the film director Aditya Dhar on X platform and asked if the movie is actually based on his brother. In response, the filmmaker referred to the Major as “braveheart” and penned that their upcoming film is not inspired by his life. Dhar declared that he was clarifying it officially. He further assured Madhur Sharma that if they ever plan to do a biopic on the soldier in future, they will take the family’s consent and consultation. He also said that they will make the movie in a way that honours his sacrifice and legacy. Major Mohit Sharma was a brave hero who reportedly infiltrated Hizbul Mujahideen by going undercover as Iftikhar Bhatt. This incident happened in the early 2000s. He gave his life to the nation as he fought with the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara region in 2009. After his passing, Major Mohit Sharma was awarded the Ashok Chakra.
