As you grow older, there will come a time when you will realise that parents are the most important and supportive people in your life. No matter what kind of relationship you share with them, bitter or sweet, they will always hold a special place in your heart and vice versa. June 1 is dedicated to celebrating Global Parents Day and there is a history of why it was started. Of course, the first and foremost is the importance and contribution of parents in their children’s life. The 2023 theme will revolve around their significance in our lives. Undoubtedly, parents have a crucial role to play in not just nurturing their children but in the process, shaping the healthy and prosperous future of the society and county at large. Global Parents Days was officially announced in the year 2012 by the General Assembly. However, in 1983, the Economic and Social Council, the Commission for Social Development was the first organisation to focus on the need, and issues of a family and to start dialogues around it in their resolution. Eventually, the day to celebrate families was also officially declared. So why not the ones who actually start it? However, if you are away from them, do have a nice conversation over a video call, and it might sound cheesy, but express your love to them.
