Redditor Asks People To Stop Glorifying “Happy Singles”, Lists Importance Of A Partner. It’s Touchy!
Redditor explains why it is important to have a partner in life, and we couldn't agree more.

If you have been single for long and somebody tells you that it’s a happy life you’re living, don’t listen! The importance of a partner and their void can never be fulfilled. Well, things are different for people who have explored relationships and then choose to be single for a while. Don’t mix it up. I came across a very interesting Reddit thread on it. In this, the user explained how “stay happy single” is not the right kind of advice for people who have never been in a relationship but is only good for people who jump from one relationship to another just so they can fill the void. Read on for more.
This Reddit thread is all about how we should stop glorifying the lives of single people! In this, the user stated the importance of partners in day-to-day life, and in general, how they make life easier. The Redditor highlighted that people who haven’t had the luck of being in relationships are often told that they should learn to be happy first to get someone. The user firmly stated that it’s bad advice for these people and went on to explain how one feels about the lack of a partner. The thread listed days like Valentine’s Day when people feel the need to have someone by their side and the void makes the feeling worse. It added that having a partner in today’s time also cuts down on financial tolls. The Redditor backed it with examples of couples that have nothing much in their lives but each others’ presence made things easier. Another important to note here is that the user also highlighted that even good friends cannot fill the absence of a partner.
“You need to be happy single” is good advice for people who jump from relationship to relationship, not people who have never been able to get a relationship.

Many users in the comment section felt seen. They related hard with the thread and elaborated more on the vulnerabilities that singles can feel. One user wrote that not being in a relationship for the longest time can make a person feel undesirable. Many people agreed that they have no idea about how it feels to be in a relationship and its feelings. Another user wrote that the best advice is no advice in such cases.

Well, indeed, we should not make it look like staying single is the best thing that can happen to you. Someone also said that it’s also luck that plays here, and I think, it makes sense. The right partner can change your life for good and one should never leave hope!
