The Vadh actress shared her personal experience on this and spoke on behalf of all the women who choose to stay single until they find the right man!

She recently spoke about a much-needed taboo against women who continue to stay single after a certain age that is not acceptable by society. Neena Ji recalled a fight from the past that she had with her ex-boyfriend. During the fight, her ex-boyfriend mockingly snapped at her saying she is still “On the shelf”. This was the one statement that stayed with the actress even after so many years. Elaborating on the same, Neena Gupta talked about society’s thinking toward women who choose to stay single in their lives and wait for the right man. She acknowledged that such prejudice is faced by a lot of women, especially the working and independent ones. In the video, the Badhaai Do actress further seeks for answer to give to such people who think women who stay single by choice are “On the shelf”.
