Involuntary spasms

Do you feel your vaginal muscles just tighten up when you and your partner are trying to penetrative sex? These involuntary spasms can also occur in your lower body including lower back, legs, etc.

Pain or burning sensation

When you try to have sexual intercourse or use a tampon, your vagina feels like it’s tearing. You get a burning sensation or feel pain during the penetration that makes you feel your vagina is rejecting whatever is entering it.

Breathing problems during sex

Several women with vaginismus find it hard to breathe during sexual intercourse. You may experience chest pain as well during penetrative sex. If this happens, you may require immediate medical care.
