We are totally aware that shimmer and shine is one fashion trend from last year that has been spilling into the new one. This was clearly evident at The Golden Globe Awards 2017 and also at the red carpet of The Jio Filmfare Awards. Celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandez, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and Sridevi were among the many who chose to go with this trendy flow, in terms of glitter. Similarly, sheer seemed to be a partner in crime alongside shimmer, as many of the actresses wore ensembles that were translucent. Sonam Kapoor, Esha Gupta, and Kriti Kharbanda totally rocked the red carpet in this look! One-shouldered dresses seem to be a thing now, too, with stars like Parineeti Chopra and Preity Zinta choosing to go bare on one arm, with a pop of colour.
Now, getting to the main style that seemed to be in focus for the night…’the return of cleave’. Celebs such as Sunny Leone, Kalki Koechlin, and Disha Patani were spotted wearing either plunging necklines or high-neck key hole cuts, flashing just the right amount of cleavage. I have a feeling that this trend is here to stay this season…and we aren’t complaining.
The best dressed for the night had got to be Sonam Kapoor’s gorgeous ensemble by Elie Saab Couture. It had the right amount of sheer, shimmer, and cleave. Talk about pulling it all off in one go! Besides her style, bagging the best actress award and probably one of the cutest looks of this show was Alia Bhatt. You know how much we love this star’s style and her princess gown was perfect for the occasion.
