As an only child of my parents, I often envy those who have siblings. TBH, my biggest fear is that after my parents, I’ll be left alone with no one to call my own and no one to be my fallback option since I don’t have a sibling and that’s hard to deal with. Plus I hate the fact that I did not have someone to fight with and still be best friends and family with aka a sibling. That is also why I enjoy watching sibling love and appreciate it much more than anyone can ever imagine. And when it comes to siblings, there’s only one trio that has my heart – Chandan, Chanchal and Chitwan from TVF Tripling. This chaotic trio and their road trips have made a home in our hearts and guess what, they’re back again with loads of love and drama as they navigate through the ups and downs of their lives. Directed by Neeraj Udhwani, Tripling Season 3 witnesses Sumeet Vyas, Maanvi Gagroo and Amol Parashar reprising the roles of Chandan, Chanchal and Chitwan along with Kumud Mishra and Shernaz Patel who plays the role of Chinmay and Charu Sharam, the parents of the three siblings. Tripling Season 3 premiered on the OTT platform Zee5 on October 21.
The Story Of Tripling Season 3
After the chaos in seasons 1 and 2, the three siblings are back in Tripling Season 3 which focuses on their homecoming as the trio deals with their parents getting separated. The story follows Chandan, Chanchal and Chitwan as they head to see their parents after finding out that they’re planning to part ways. While they believe that their parents cannot get separated, another bomb is dropped when they find out that their parents have decided to sell their home, the siblings’ childhood home. This season deals with the emotional turmoil faced by the trio as they struggle to come to terms with the realities of their lives and that of their parents’ relationship while dealing with their own life problems. This season also touches upon the topic of old couples parting ways and deals with it in a touching, sensitive and humorous manner without making it emotionally exhausting, stressful or insensitive. And guess what, it doesn’t make cheap jokes or uncomfortable ones. Instead, the show carefully and beautifully shows how two people can love each other and yet walk away because they want different things in life without being sour about it.
Cast And Characters
Sumeet Vyas as Chandan Sharma: Sumeet Vyas seems to have a knack for slipping effortlessly into his characters. Sumeet Vyas is a total pro at embodying Chandan and taking us all through his personal life which is nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster as he struggles to write his third book while learning to accept that his parents are parting ways. It seems to have been a beautiful journey and we’ve witnessed Chandan grow through the seasons.
Maanvi Gagroo as Chanchal Sharma: Maanvi Gagroo is surely riding high on her OTT success. The actress has time and again proved her mettle in acting and she seems to have gone and done it yet again. She aces the role of Chanchal Sharma as expected and gets so much more on the table as she showcases the struggles of the middle child in a desi household.
Amol Parashar as Chitwan Sharma: In all honesty, this season is OWNED by Amol Parashar as Chitwan Sharma as he struggles with his son’s custody case, a son who isn’t even biologically his own but he showcases what it’s like to welcome true fatherhood in this season. Amol Parashar’s Chitwan has grown the most through the three seasons of Tripling. More importantly, in this season, the actor displayed some truly raw and heart-touching emotions which was kaafi out of character but he managed to make it a part of Chitwan’s character without making it seem OTT or out of place.
Kumud Mishra as Chimay Sharma: We’ve known Kumud Mishra to be a natural actor and as usual he’s a beauty to watch as he guides his kids in the right direction as Chinmay Sharma. He beautifully shows the realities of a couple parting ways while still in love. Kumud is a total treat to watch as he gives an impactful and beautiful performance in Tripling Season 3.
Shernaz Patel as Charu Sharma: Shernaz Patel owned her character and was at par with Kumud Mishra in terms of her acting skills. The actress aced the role of a chill mother who is navigating through her own relationship while guiding her kids through their struggles with their interpersonal relationships. The actress calmly showcases every emotion in every situation with absolute ease.
Kunaal Roy Kapur as Pranav: We did not get enough of Kunaal Roy Kapur but the actor sure gives us quite a lot of light-hearted and fun moments to smile and laugh through the emotional rollercoaster of a season. We cannot help but love Kunaal’s Pranav’s feel-good vibe.

Verdict: We Miss The Trip But Love The Journey!
This season seems to be about the homecoming of the three siblings as well as about some stability. Despite being about road trips, Tripling Season 3 steers away from the theme and shows the trio in one place and not on a trip as shown in the previous two seasons. And as much as I missed the trio being on a road trip, I cannot help but point out that I love how this season touches upon a lesser talked about topic of parents parting ways after being together for decades. This can be hard for any kid and it’s much more difficult to accept when the kid or kids are adults. This season of Tripling showcases a divorce between Charu and Chinmay without making it uncomfortable with cheap jokes. It makes light of the situation while balancing it with the rollercoaster of emotions the kids are feeling which makes for a great watch. It deals with the entire situation in a sensitive and meaningful but humorous manner. And I cannot stress how impressive the performances were in this season. Moreover, it pays more attention to Chitwan and his story while showcasing a major change in the lives of the siblings.
Tripling Season 3 is beautifully written and beautifully made but let me give you a heads-up, unlike the previous 2 seasons, this season is not full of the same old wit and humour. While it does have some light and funny moments with amazing comic timings, the punchlines seem to be duller than the past 2 seasons. But it will elicit some good laughs. However, fewer laughs go with the theme of this season which focuses on emotional growth and understanding. In other words, Tripling Season 3 is high on emotions but not so much on punchlines. But don’t let that make you think that it’s any less entertaining. The show makes for a great, wholesome, binge-worthy watch. Having said that, I must add that it focused too much on the divorce and not enough on the siblings and their bond which is what this series has always been about and I did miss watching the trio bond amid the chaos that is their life. At the same time, the episodes this season were between 20 to 25 minutes which made the makes rush us through the story and in some sense stole the stability of the show and of the characters. Moreover, this season also lacks other characters and their tracks looped into the main plot which makes it a tad bit boring. More so, since it does introduce new characters but forgets about the story halfway through. And that, my friends, is why Tripling Season 3 gets 3.5 stars out of 5 stars.

In conclusion, I’m just going to say that it may not be up to the mark if compared to the previous two seasons of Tripling but it sure is a worthy watch that you do not want to miss out on. FYI, TVF Tripling is currently streaming on the OTT platform Zee5.
