Logout Review: Babil Khan Shoulders This Well Thought But Poorly Executed Screenlife Thriller!
Directed by Amit Golani, here's our review of Logout starring Babil Khan and Rasika Dugal.

The trailer for Logout, starring Babil Khan and Rasika Dugal, did not excite me much at first. But the film had more to offer. Directed by Amit Golani, Babil Khan portrays the role of a social media influencer. Written by Biswapati Sarkar, the story takes a deep dive into influencer culture and the dangers of online fame. The film definitely made me think more than I expected, but it also had major flaws. Hence, to understand it clearly, read the review below!
Plot
Babil plays Pratyush, also known as Pratman, online. He is a popular Instagram influencer. He is about to get 10 million followers and seems great for him online. But then, things take a dark turn after his phone and his personal information get stolen. Well, it isn’t a minor stealing case, as Pratyush gets trapped in a scary game. An unknown person starts controlling his online life, and she messes with his social media and life. Will things get better? Will Pratman be able to take control of his life again? Like, usual – I won’t spoil it.
Performance
Babil Khan’s performance is the best part of Logout, hands down. From showing rage to sadness, he delivers an honest performance. In the moments when he thinks about his family, he showcases a side that moves you. He carried the film on his shoulders and with great intensity.
Rasika Dugal: She didn’t have a major role in this film, but she portrayed the role of Pratman’s concerned sister with utter honesty. She also gives him a reality check like all siblings do.
Nimisha Nair as Sakshi Kishore (Pratman’s fan) didn’t leave a big impression. The character of the obsessive fan was not as strong as it could have been. The idea of this character was good. It could have added a lot of tension. But the way it was shown was not very impressive. This was a missed opportunity. While she talks to Pratman on the call, her voice definitely brings an uneasy factor a bit. But it dries down later.
The story of Logout had a good idea at its core. But the way it was told felt not ripe enough. Some parts did not make much sense. The logic was stretched. You had to ignore some things to follow the story. This made it less believable. For example, the entire phone-stealing situation and things to get the phone back. It did not flow naturally from what happened before. It made me question the story’s sense.
Amit Golani’s direction had some good moments. The beginning of the film was interesting. It made you want to know more. The way he set up the story was well done. The pacing at the start was good. It drew you into the mystery. The film used the idea of a “mouse trap” well. This showed how the character was stuck. The similarities between the elements were interesting.
Verdict: Babil Khan Anchors This Thriller With A Weak Plot
The start of the film feels good. But the film loses its way later. The plot feels shallow. It does not explore the emotions deeply enough. It feels immature at times, and the logic is not always strong. The pacing is uneven. The ending is a bit of a letdown. The character of the fan could have been better. Despite these problems, Babil Khan’s performance shines. He shows great talent. He makes the film worth watching for his portrayal alone. If you are interested in his work, you might enjoy this film. But be prepared for a story that has some weaknesses. It is a watchable film, but not a great one. You might find it interesting for the performances, but don’t expect a perfect story. For the unversed, it will be released on Zee5 on April 18th.
