Performances

Lakshya As Amrit: Lakshya makes a jaw-dropping debut with Kill. The actor plays the character of an Army Commando, Amrit. He stuns as the main character and nails the action sequences effortlessly. We can see the change in his personality evidently throughout the movie. The angst, sincerity and love for his girlfriend, he delivers all these emotions brilliantly. It’s surprising how Lakshya turns into a massive Bollywood hero in this film. His expressions and attitude are amazing in the movie. After a long time, we can see such a strong newcomer which proves he’s here to stay. We see you, Lakshya!

Tanya Maniktala As Tulika: Tanya delivered great performances in Flames and A Suitable Boy. She plays the character of Tulika who is the daughter of a rich businessman, Baldev Singh Thakur. Tanya portrays the sweet girl next door image efficiently in this film. Despite the little screen time, the actress made her screen presence known. You can feel the love in Tanya’s eyes. Having said that, her eyes do the talking in this film. She expresses her delicate self graciously throughout the film. Amrit and Tulika’s romantic scenes feel like a breath of fresh air. Love the duo’s chemistry!

Raghav Juyal As Fani: Raghav comes neck-to-neck with Lakshya in this film. I can’t believe he’s the same person whom I used to watch dancing and having fun on screen. At some point, Raghav steals the limelight from Lakshya and makes the entire film his. His sarcastic one-liners are funny and not too much. Raghav portrays the bad boy image so well that it makes you want to kill him. He’s sassy and looks super cool on screen. Fani has some of the best dialogues in the film and he delivers it smoothly. Honestly, I questioned myself for laughing at all his supremely dark jokes and punchlines that came at truly gory, bloody moments! Furthermore, you know how some characters are made for particular actors, I think Fani was made for Raghav. He’s mindblowing!

Supporting Cast

Ashish Vidyarthi plays the character of Beni who’s the leader of the gang. He’s one of the greatest actors and proved the same in this film as well. Abhishek Chauhan played the role of Amrit’s best friend and fellow commando, Viresh and to say that he was convincing would be an understatement. Parth Tiwari is a sight to behold. He’s one of the dacoits and nails the action scenes like a PRO.

Verdict: Lakshya And Raghav Juyal Go For The Kill!

The makers were absolutely correct with Kill being India’s most violent movie. As a person who hates watching violent films, I cannot believe I watched the entire movie. Thanks to Se-Yeong Oh and Parvez Shaikh who directed this film’s action sequences, even though I had to shut my eyes between some horrific scenes, I wanted to watch more. The sound of bones cracking and sharp knives makes you feel like the one being hunted. Expect to see some phenomenal stunts in this one. But mind you, it is not a film for the faint-hearted. Do not watch it if you don’t have an appetite for violence.

The background score gives you chills and builds up your curiosity about what will happen next. Thankfully, the makers didn’t add masala and no unnecessary objectifying. They also didn’t overdo the romantic scenes in this one. The camera angles and the movements created a tense mood throughout the film. Kill has excellent cricketer references that will surely make you laugh out loud. The dialogues are unique and very familiar to the social media world. It focuses on the epic battle between 40 dacoits and 2 commandos. Overall, the actor’s performances and the storyline is up to the mark. So, if you are a fanatic of action sequences and violent films, Kill is the one for you. It’s a must-watch!
