The wait for Housefull 5 was quite a long one, and since the franchise has a big fan following, the 5th instalment created quite a buzz. It’s a multi-starrer film which consists of actors like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chunky Pandey, Dino Morea, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma. Did the comedy cum whoddunit entertain us? Here’s a quick review!
Story
The entire film of Housefull 5 is shot on a cruise, and many events unfold in three hours. It also starts when Ranjith (Ranjith), a millionaire, dies and names his entire will to his son Jolly. But well, we only get to learn about the real Jolly in the end. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan are the three contenders claiming to be the real Jolly, but things go south when a murder happens on the cruise. Everyone is a suspect, and many twists happen in the first half of the film. Everything untangles in the second half.
Performance
Akshay Kumar is the king of comedy, and well, he proves that yet again with his perfect comic timing. Some of his scenes with Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff had us ROFL! Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh also did their parts well and were in their best form. Sonam Bajwa had her moment when she delivered a 2-minute rant in Punjabi. Loved it! Jacqueline Fernandez and Nargis Fakhri were a delight to watch. Even Johnny Lever and Chunku Pandey stood out with their comic characters. Dino Morea and Fardeen Khan also delivered good performances. Even Nana Patekar, the OG, notched the drama a level with his entry in the second half.
