Follow Kar Lo Yaar Ft Uorfi Javed Will Fill The Bigg Boss-Sized Hole In Your Heart And HOW!

Directed by Sandeep Kukreja, Follow Kar Lo Yaar gives the audience a raw and unfiltered insight into Uorfi Javed, the internet sensation’s professional and private life. Honestly, I was a bit curious to know about her beginnings as I’m very fond of rags-to-riches stories. I also wanted to know more about the creative process behind the quirky, saratorial fashion statements which made Uorfi Javed the fashion diva she is! Because every person has a story to tell and surely Uorfi Javed has a lot of layers unopened which I expected to see in the show. The show is available on Prime Video and has 9 episodes and it’s filled with catfights, family drama, emotional trauma, botox and fillers. It features Uorfi Javed and her entire family, management, and special appearances by esteemed fashion designer Sandeep Khosla, Prajakta Koli, Orry and Munawar Faruqui. Having binge-watched the entire show, here’s our honest review about it.

The Plot Of Follow Kar Lo Yaar

Starting from her humble beginnings in Lucknow to her current life in Mumbai through Delhi. From being unnoticed to becoming an internet sensation and from being overlooked in the fashion world to strutting down runways for renowned designers. The makers have unveiled a new side of the internet sensation that hasn’t been shown before. In this show, we can take a peek into her professional life, juggling with brands, rejections, and events, and her personal life with her sisters, their wild family dynamics, and the grind she goes through every day to maintain the spotlight and the craze around her.

Her sisters, Urusa, Asfi, and Dolly Javed, plus her brother Sameer Aslam and their mom Zakiya Sultana, add a lot of drama to their never-ending clashes. Well, it’s her way of staying real and staying in the showbiz industry. The story follows a narrative of Uorfi’s raw and unfiltered life and gives us a glimpse into her world beyond the glitz and glam. NGL, the story was indeed a desi version of Keeping Up With The Kardashians mixed with the crazy dynamics of Bigg Boss. Overall, the story revolves around Uorfi’s bold decisions, family drama and a little bit of disturbing beginnings.

Verdict: A Must Watch For Bigg Boss Fans

Follow Kar Lo Yaar is perfect for those who crave onscreen drama and fights. However, the show falls short in portraying Uorfi’s creative journey that shaped her success today and made her the queen of saratorial and quirky fashion statements. The writing lacked depth and the direction felt lacking as well. They could have shown so much and so many aspects of her life but the makers tried to focus on one thing- sister drama. Another thing which disappointed me was there was little to no display about her fashion game which I think a lot of us were intrigued about. Well, there were some positives as well, like her doing whatever she feels like and not caring about others, showcasing the fact she’s actually that chill in real life as well.

It’s evident that Uorfi doesn’t enjoy talking about her which is understandable as it stems from emotional trauma, as hinted by her sisters. Overall, the series was overloaded with unnecessary conflicts that seemed staged. However, the show did showcase the way Uorfi thinks and she’s unapologetic. The show also showcases her emotional side and behind the scenes of her planning behind getting papped. While the show may not serve a profound purpose, it can be enjoyed as a typical family drama series. Give it a try if you’re in the mood for some light entertainment, but don’t expect a deep dive into Uorfi’s artistic evolution.
