Women Gets Pregnant Without Having Sex. Loses Her Virginity After Giving Birth. Erm…What?

Okay, a show of hands. How many of you know just how common accidental pregnancies are? If you’ve watched Jane The Virgin, then you know exactly what I am talking about. In the show, we know that Jane, despite being a virgin like the name suggests, was accidentally artificially inseminated by a gynaecologist and that’s how she was impregnated despite never having had sex. However, the case of accidental pregnancy we are talking about today is much, much more bizarre. This woman from the UK, who has never had penetrative sex, discovers she was pregnant. I am a little hazy on the details and frankly very confused about how it all happened.

28-year-old Nicole Moore discovered that she was pregnant when she merely 20 years old. She suffered from vaginismus, a condition that causes vaginal walls to constrict involuntarily resulting in tremendous pain during attempts of penetration, and hence was a virgin. She tried numerous times to be intimate with her boyfriend but it was practically impossible. However, one day she developed pregnancy like symptoms and discovered that she indeed was carrying a child, without ever having had sex.

Nicole was quoted saying, “We tried but it was impossible. I didn’t understand why it couldn’t happen. But doctors told me I was fine, so I just believed for a while that there was something wrong with me. One day at work I started getting terrible heartburn and sore breasts. My boss at the time, who was a close friend and knew about my situation, said she thought I could be pregnant. I laughed and said there was no way, as I was still a virgin and never had penetrative sex. But she said it was possible if there had been any fluids near my vagina, despite not actually having intercourse.”

She said, “ All I kept thinking was how on earth am I going to deliver this baby if I couldn’t even have intercourse. I was worried my partner would think I’d cheated on him, as it seemed so impossible. But thankfully he knew me and my body, and he didn’t doubt me for a second.”

I have so many questions. First, how did she get pregnant? I am no Mahindra Watsa, but as far as I know, you can’t get pregnant by any “fluids” being near your vagina. Even a person who hasn’t ever received any sex education, which is most of our country, will be able to tell you it doesn’t work that way. So she just sat near a pool of her boyfriend’s cum and was impregnated? Did the sperm crawl into her vagina? How does this work?

Four months into her pregnancy, Nicole was diagnosed with vaginismus. She gave birth to her daughter, Tilly. With the help of physical therapy, she was able to have penetrative sex and she lost her virginity. Nicole said, “I still suffer from vaginismus but I now know how to deal with it and it definitely isn’t as bad. I still can’t do certain things, like insert a tampon, but I feel very fortunate that I am now able to have a normal sex life. Tilly is definitely my little miracle. We’ve got the best life together and having her was the best thing I’ve ever done.”

This really is one bizarre case of accidental pregnancy!
