Meet Annie Ernaux. French Author Who Received The Nobel Prize In Literature, 2022.

Congratulations to her!

Nobel Prize in all disciplines is regarded as the highest honorary accomplishment. The awards are presented by the Swedish Academy in various fields like Physics, Literature, Peace, and Chemistry among others. This year’s winners have also been announced and it is a moment of pride because the Nobel Prize in literature has been awarded to a woman author, Annie Ernaux. More so, because her voice in form of her autobiographical writings was recognised by the Academy.

Annie Ernaux is a French memoirist, and she hails from Normandy.  Most of her works have been inspired by her own life. She has also earned a degree as a professional teacher. Ernaux pursued her higher studies in Modern Literature. In her long career as a writer, Annie Ernaux has 30 published books to herself. While presenting her with the Nobel Prize in Literature, the Swedish Academy noted that Ernaux’s literary works highlighted many issues like gender inequality, class distinction, and language.
