Almond mom is referred to the kind of mothers who puts unrealistic and unhealthy expectations on her child–especially daughters. They pressure them to be and look a certain way. Their weight and image are heavily controlled by almond moms. The internet has famously named Yolanda Hadid, mother of famous model siblings Gigi and Bella Hadid, as the ultimate almond mom. Many clips of Yolanda have been going viral, which seem to depict her controlling Gigi’s diet.

An almond girl possesses similar traits to Almond mom, except she expresses those traits/ ideas mostly on herself. Such girls are most likely concerned about their weight and micro-manage their diet and exercise. Their ideal body image is often thin and usually achieved by adopting unhealthy eating habits. This can eventually lead to an eating disorder.
