This Woman Claims That Her Husband Checked Her Vagina After Sex To Ensure She Was Trying To Prevent Pregnancy

So, every day, I type ‘woman’ in the Google search bar and click on the news category. It’s the easiest way to find suitable stories. But the reports that pop up leave me horrified. Rapes, murders, violence. It’s like a blood bath out there. The latest story that has me shocked and disturbed is about a woman whose husband put her through hell and then abandoned her in the USA.

Anamika (name changed) is a woman from Bihar’s Patna. She reached the USA with her husband on 1st March. They live in Mclean, Virginia. No sooner than they landed in America, her husband began physically abusing her and demanding dowry from her parents who were back in India. He wouldn’t let her go anywhere by herself and even started checking her vagina to ensure she wasn’t using some form of contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. Anamika’s story is every woman’s worst nightmare.

In a complaint, Anamika said, “My husband has abandoned me without any financial support. I have no place to go. My parents in India sought help from my father-in-law but he is demanding dowry to get me back in my husband’s life.

Anamika is running from pillar to post to get some kind of help. She has even approached the US State Department but there has been no avail. Her husband has tortured her to the point that the police had to be called to their apartment. Anamika told PTI, “I was rescued by police due to his cruelty as my life was in danger.”

Anamika narrated the entire hellish ordeal in a complaint. She wrote that her husband, who has now sent divorce summons, would force her to keep the washroom door open while she used it. She claimed, “When I used to go to the washroom, he used to make allegations that you are doing something to prevent pregnancy in the washroom as there was no noise while using the washroom. Then he told me to keep the door open and use the washroom.”

She further added, “Many times, he has checked my vagina to see whether I used anything to prevent pregnancy. Few times he checked the same by using his phone flashlight and a few times by using his finger and sometimes by wearing gloves. After sex, he used to shout at me that you are using something to prevent pregnancy.”

In her complaint, Anamika also alleged that her husband would never let her go anywhere by herself. He would even make her accompany him to the mailroom. Once he made her sit on her knees on the road as a way of apologizing to him. He would also threaten to make her life miserable if she ever breathed a word about this abuse.

Thankfully though, Anamika found a way to remove herself from that horrifying situation. She is now living with a close relative of hers in Seattle and has approached a few NGO’s that work with Indian women who are being abused by their husbands. Hopefully, they will be able to help her and convict her husband for all his abuse.

This is just disturning. When will men understand that women are not punching bags?
