Did You Know That These 5 Fishes Are Best for Home Aquariums?

If you are someone who is looking to add a touch of aquatic environment to your home, then opting for an aquarium is the best option. But that does not mean you need to go buy some really expensive fish to make it look pretty. Instead, you can opt for these 5 small fishes that will add the perfect charm to your home.

Which Small Fishes You Can Add To Your Home Aquarium?

1) Betta Fish

Admired for their beautiful colours and flowing fins, Betta fish are one of the favourite beginner aquarium fish. These graceful swimmers prefer to be kept in small tanks and demand little maintenance. They like low-flow water and warm temperatures and are typically kept in red, blue, purple, and even iridescent colors. Though male Betta fish are known to be territorial, they are otherwise easy to keep and are a burst of color for any configuration.

2) Guppies

These small, active fish are a favourite in starter tanks. Guppies are highly tolerant and can thrive in most water conditions. They’re eye candy due to their bright colours and activity level. One cautionary note: they breed readily — so if you have males and females together, you may want to be prepared for baby guppies!

3) Zebra Danios

Identifiable with their horizontal black and white stripes, Zebra Danios are active, schooling fish that love having company. They are durable and can tolerate a great variation in temperature and pH levels, thus making an excellent addition to a community tank. Their quick swimming and playful nature make the tank exciting.

4) Platies

Due to their calm nature and numerous colour options, Platies are perfect for both beginners and advanced aquarists. They are tolerable with other non-violent fish and are extremely easy to feed. These robust swimmers are adapted to any environment and are ideal for family aquariums.

5) Mollies

Mollies are hardy fish that can be kept in freshwater or mildly salty (brackish) water. They come in a variety of color and fin types and are peaceful, community fish that do well in several different tank configurations. Their peaceful nature is why they’re popular in community tanks.

The best part about these small fish is that they don’t require a lot of space, effort or maintenance and add a cute vibe to your abode.
